Craft beer and rescue dogs come together at Lake Compounce for ‘Ales and Tails’

Come for the beers, stay for the dogs.

Lake Compounce's "Ales and Tails" event is going on every Saturday and Sunday from Sep. 10 - 25. The new event is set to bring together craft beers from Connecticut-based breweries and give event-goers a chance to meet and greet adoptable dogs.

"Ales and Tails" is partnering with local animal shelters to allow people not only to meet the dogs, but to learn more about the organizations as a whole. Different shelters and organizations will be at the event on varying days. The schedule can be seen below:

Meriden Humane Society- September 10 and 24

Dog Star Rescue- September 11 and 25

Army's Legacy Animal Rescue- September 17 and 18

In terms of beer, "Ales and Tails" is featuring breweries from around the Nutmeg State, like Stony Creek Brewery in Branford and Thomas Hooker Brewery in Bloomfield. There is set to be a range of beer types to sample, from IPAs to Lagers to Ales.

Event goers must purchase Lake Compounce single-day admission tickets, which are $39.99 per person online of $59.99 at the door. Lake Compounce season-ticket holders can attend the event as included in their pass.

The event is not open for outside animals to attend.
