A moment of honor: Darien fire departments and residents saluted the Wreaths Across America owners and rigs carrying wreaths to place on veterans’ graves at Arlington National Cemetery. Darien’s ceremony is at noon on Saturday at Spring Grove Cemetery’s Veterans’ Cemetery.

Darien Fire Department participates in annual Tunnel to Towers run

The event symbolizes Stephen Siller’s final footsteps from the foot of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel (formerly known as the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel) to the Twin Towers Site, and pays homage to the 343 FDNY firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and thousands of civilians who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
