For a team that has been so much about shutouts, fittingly, the Wave’s last regular season match closed with the most blankety-blank victory of all.

Darien beat visiting Norwalk 7-0, with shutouts across the scoresheet, to mark Senior Day on Monday, with its 14th shutout this season.

The Wave improves to 15-1.

Every match finished 6-0, 6-0 with wins from Kateri Martin at number one singles, Lilly Ma at two, Emilia Callery at No. 3, Emily Neuner at four singles.

At doubles it was Mia Dursht-Daphney Gray at No. 1, Susie Alptekin-Elaina Cummisky at two, Hailey Zimmerman-Megan Smith at three.

Darien sets out to defend its FCIAC title and win back states, while Martin, a two-time state champ, and runner-up last year, aims to go 3-for-4 for the big prize at the end of the line of post-season competition.
