Wednesday’s snowstorm has forced some changes the state tournaments for boys and girls ice hockey.

The CHSGHA State girls ice hockey semis, originally scheduled for Wednesday, are now slated to be played at 4:30 p.m., Friday, March 9, at The Rinks at Shelton.

The games include No. 3 New Canaan vs. No. 2 Darien, and No. 9 Branford/East Haven/North Branford vs. No. 4 Suffield/Enfield/Housatonic/Ellington.

The Shelton facility has two rinks — one downstairs and one upstairs — so the two semifinal games will be held simultaneously beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The State girls hockey championship game has been moved to Sunday, March 11, at 4 p.m., at Bennett Rink in West Haven.

The CIAC Div. I boys ice hockey playoff game between No. 13 Darien and No. 4 Notre Dame-West Haven at Bennett Rink in West Haven is on as scheduled at 5 p.m., tonight.

That game was originally scheduled for Wednesday but was postponed due to the storm.
