It was a six-goal blowout, but not anything to blow any horns about for the coach, with a tricky semifinals match-up on the horizon.

“Sloppy game, we were very flat,” Darien coach Lisa Lindley said of the Wave’s 14-8 win over Conard on Friday. “Nicole (Humphrey) played well, Logan Book played well, (Katie) Ramsay was good on the draw.”

Nicole Humphrey scored five goals in Darien’s Class L quarterfinals victory at home on Thursday.

Fourth seed defending champion Darien (15-3) plays No. 8 New Canaan (14-4) in the semifinals 8pm Tuesday at Brien McMahon.

Fifth seed Conard bows out at 13-3.

Ramsay, Christine Fiore, Ashley Humphrey, Emma Jaques had two goals each and Charlotte Wittstock had one.

Starter Carly Schoudel made four saves in goal for Darien and Maggie Brooks came on to make five.
