If you’ve been searching for a way to learn more about your family history, there’s even more of a reason to finally get a DNA test: Ancestry has marked down its genetic kits to less than $50, which the team says is their lowest price of the year.

AncestryDNA kits are typically $100, so the Cyber Week deal equals 50% in savings. The kits are easy to use, and you’ll have your results in one to two months. You’ll want to take advantage of the sale soon: It ends on Nov. 28.

Here’s how an AncestryDNA kit works:

  1. First, you activate your kit online.
  2. Then, you take a sample of your saliva and send it to the Ancestry lab in a prepaid package.
  3. In six to eight weeks, you’ll learn more about your family history with an “ethnicity estimate” that includes “in-depth historical insights” and “which ethnicities were passed down to you from each parent,” according to Ancestry.

You can take the results from your kit to the next level with an Ancestry subscription, which is also on sale through Nov. 28. Using the online tools, you can build a family tree and access additional records.

The DNA tests are also available on Amazon, though the price remains at this week's earlier markdown of $59.
