Greenwich home featured in HGTV and ELLE Décor listed for $4.5M

Several homes in Connecticut have been featured in magazines like Architectural Digest or New England Living. But one Greenwich home on the market made it to not one, but three publications for its interior design.

The modernized colonial on 71 Richmond Hill Road was featured in both House Beautiful and ELLE Décor for its interior makeover in 2014, in which the ‘70s-era home underwent “a minimalist transformation without losing its family appeal.” In each profile, co-founder of Décor Aid and the project’s designer Sean C. Juneja said the homeowners “loved the proximity to the horse farm, as well as the easy commute to New York,” but wanted to update the home.

What resulted was an interior featuring embellished ceilings in a sitting room, a modern kitchen done in shades of gray and white and a dining room that was featured by HGTV Magazine in 2019 as a “Top 100+ Designer Dining Room.”

Now on the market for $4,495,000, the 8,720 square-foot home has six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and more than 4 acres of property. The home’s magazine-worthy dining room features a “live edge walnut dining table,” according to Juneja, which was purchased on Etsy from a company in Quebec.

Elsewhere in the home, there’s dual-function homework and family room on the second level, according to the listing, while the third floor contains an office and a “sleepover room.” When it came to the overall interior design of the home, Juneja said in the House Beautiful and ELLE Décor profiles that while the color palette varies throughout the home, they were chosen to provide balance between rooms.

“There should be harmony within each given room, with colors recurring in the furnishings, the art, and the accessories,” he said. “But even in an open plan home, you can treat each room as its own entity.”

In the home’s lower level, there is a media room, a playroom and a gym, the listing notes, and the yard has a pool with a spa and waterfall.
