Warriors open districts with sweep of Bulldogs

UBLY – The North Huron varsity volleyball team took the first round of districts with a win over Owendale-Gagetown on Monday night at host Ubly. The Warriors won, 25-10, 25-7, 25-20.

For the Warriors, Mollie Zaleski led the team with 23 points, six aces, 33 assists and one kill. Brooke Gordon had 16 points, one ace and six kills. Emma Taylor had seven kills and one block. Emma Hyzer had six kills, and Grace Knoblock had five kills. Cheyanne Hoody contributed five points and three kills. Karrigan Schipinski had three aces and one kill. Rainy Byrne added three kills.

Next up, North Huron will face Caseville in the district semi-final game on Wednesday in Ubly at 8 p.m.
