KINGSTON — The Owen-Gage girls basketball team’s season came to an end on Wednesday night as the Bulldogs fell to a dominant Kingston team, 58-14, in a district semifinal matchup.

Owen-Gage was unable to overcome a tough Cardinals defense, scoring just eight points in the first half, and were kept off the board completely in the second quarter, with Kingston taking a 45-8 lead into halftime. Carley Haldane led the Bulldogs in scoring with six points.

“We played good defense and didn’t give Owen-Gage many good looks,” Kingston head coach Jay Green said. “We are going to need our best effort of the year on Friday against a very talented and confident Ubly team.”

Leading the way for Kingston were Brooke Mooney with 14 points, Hannah James with 13, and Payton Kolacz and Isabel Hurd with eight points each.

Kingston will take on Ubly for the district championship in Kingston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
