PORT AUSTIN — North Huron and Owendale-Gagetown have been two of the top programs in the North Central Thumb League, this season.

The two teams exchanged blows, Monday, with both earning a victory, with the Warriors taking

Game 1 14-6, while the Bulldogs came back to secure a 9-8 win in Game 2.

In Game 1, things started well enough for Owen-Gage, as it led 2-0 after the first inning.

However, North Huron scored 11 runs over the second and third innings, to take command of the game.

Patricia Pineau turned in a big game for the Warriors, with three hits and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Brooke Gordon delivered a two-run homer.

Mollie Zaleski, Cheyanne Hoody and Paige Koroleski all contributed two hits.

For the Bulldogs, Aaliyah Gonzales had three hits, including a double, and scored three runs.
Carley Haldane added a hit and two RBI.

Paige Koroleski struck out five for the win.

In the nightcap, Owen-Gage bolted to a 5-0 lead after the first inning, only to see North Huron rally back to lead 8-5 after the top of the fifth.

The Bulldogs scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, to rally for the win.

Gonzales and Carlee Rievert both drove in two runs for Owen-Gage.

Pineau finished her day with a hit and two RBI, while Zaleski added two knocks and drove in two.

Maddy Haldane was credit with the win, striking out eight.
