Video unearthed of Paul Manafort on '90s Nickelodeon game show
The imprisoned Paul Manafort, once the pride of New Britain, who rose from privileged beginnings to become an international fixer, then candidate Donald Trump’s campaign manager, apparently had champagne dreams as far back as the early 1990s, when an appearance on an old TV game show uncovered a pile of plastic for the folks back home.
According to a newly discovered clip of a show on Nickelodeon called “What Would You Do?” uncovered on Reddit and now posted on The Hill’s website, host Marc Summers found a veritable cascade of gold, platinum, corporate and Visa credit cards in Manafort’s wallet, which was nestled in his wife’s purse as part of the show’s offbeat stunts. The clip is undated, but the show ran from 1991 to 1993.
Manafort, 70, is currently ensconced with 978 other convicted trangressors in a low-security federal prison in Loretto, PA, where he is known as Inmate 35207-016. His release date, for those keeping score at home, is Christmas Day, 2024.
Manafort, a scion of the locally famous New Britain family construction company, whose father Paul Sr. was once mayor, was found guilty of eight bank and tax charges a year ago, then pleaded guilty to witness tampering and conspiracy to commit fraud.
The Hill reminds readers that he also faces 16 state felony charges in New York. During Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, a now-infamous $15,000 ostrich-skin coat was seized, along with real estate. Mueller’s team also found that Manafort stashed millions of dollars in offshore banks.
