Two cars were stolen and more than half a dozen cars were burglarized overnight between June 15 and June 16. In each case the car was apparently left unlocked. A Patton Drive resident first reported his BMW 328D stolen to police at about 5 a.m. on June 16. He had left the car parked in his driveway the previous evening, but did not remember if it had been locked or if the keys were left inside, though the keys were missing. A search of the area did not show any signs of tampering with neighboring vehicles, but another car, a Lexus RX350, was reported stolen from Lynn Court. \u2022 Editorial: Dear Darien - a thief's thank you note According to police, the owner of that vehicle had left it unlocked with the keys inside.
