DARIEN \u2014 A Norwalk woman was charged Thursday in connection with a double-fatal crash on Interstate 95 that occurred last September, police said. It was shortly after 6 a.m. Sept. 29, 2019, when a Norwalk woman driving a Volkswagen Passat took the Exit 10 off-ramp of I-95 north and veered off the road \u201cfor an unknown reason,\u201d and slammed into a tree, police said. Chase Ortiz and Victor Emmanuel Deleon, both 19 and Norwalk residents, died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver, later identified as 20-year-old Indira Samantha Rivera, and two other occupants in the car suffered serious injuries, police said. Rivera, a North Main Street resident in Norwalk, was taken into custody by Connecticut State Police in connection with the crash around 8:45 p.m. Thursday. She was processed at Troop G in Bridgeport on an active arrest warrant. Police charged Rivera with two counts of misconduct with a motor vehicle, two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, failure to drive in a proper lane, operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance and possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana. She was held on a $250,000 bond.
