BRIDGEPORT — A 23-year-old man was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with multiple gun shot wounds early Sunday.

According to a release from the Bridgeport Police, officers received a call of a person shot shortly after midnight at Flavorz Famous Chicken and Fish on Barnum Avenue. Police said the man was taken to the hospital, was treated for his injuries and is expected to suvive.

Detectives processed a crime scene inside the restaurant and are reviewing video of the incident. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Bridgeport Police at 203-576-TIPS.

A 23-year-old man was reportedly shot a dozen times in the city early Sunday morning, though a police spokesman said he couldn’t confirm that number.

News 12 reported the victim was shot a dozen times, but Bridgeport Police spokesman Terron Jones couldn’t confirm how many times the victim had been shot. He did say that the victim was shot multiple times and that the person “possibly responsible” for the shooting is described as a 23 to 25-year-old black male, tall and slim, and last seen wearing a black ski mask and gray hoodie.
