STAMFORD — Police are asking the public to help them identify a car and a suspect who they believe were involved in two burglaries at Exit 9 Bagels and the Discount Store on the city’s East Side in the early morning on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Police have not been able to precisely identify the make and model of a red convertible with a white top that was driven by a white female around the time of the burglaries on East Main Street, Sgt. Sean Scanlan said.

The picture of the suspect was taken inside the Discount Store after the front door was forced open at 2:30 a.m., police said. The rear door of Exit 9 Bagels was pried open around the same time, Scanlan said.

Investigators took note of the unusually large fanny pack the burglar was wearing when his or her image was caught on a surveillance camera, Scanlan said.

If anyone has any information on the burglaries or on the pictures, they are asked to call the Property Crime Unit at 203 977-4407 and ask for Investigator Felman-Merced or Investigator Moore.
