Letter: Town should honor the late Gene Coyle with name dedication
To the Editor:
Last week, our community remembered and honored the remarkable life of Gene Coyle. Gene was a
deeply respected and selfless gentleman who dedicated a majority of his life to his family, his profession, his country, his fellow Marines, and his town.
A recent Darien Times editorial paid tribute to Gene by calling him "a man of grace, ethics and dedication.” During Gene's eulogy, his brother described Gene as a "father" to many of those he touched during his life, including those that volunteered with him in local government.
Darien does not often commemorate those who have served our community with a permanent name dedication. However, if there is a person that is worthy of such an honor, it is Mr. Gene Coyle.
