Letter: Stevenson works to fight opioid addiction
To the Editor:
With the municipal election around the corner, I would like to express with enthusiasm why I support re-election of Jayme Stevenson for first selectman. Knowing Jayme for several years has allowed me to get to know her personally and professionally. She is caring, attentive, and committed to her family and vast circle of friends.
Jayme’s passion for Darien and its residents is contagious. This was very apparent last year as Jayme helped organize a series of talks in the town regarding opioid addiction and its effects on members of the community. We worked together, along with other speakers, the police department, the health department, and support groups, which allowed us to target a major issue in town, providing education and actionable steps to help those in this community dealing with addiction and, certainly, personal loss.
Without hesitation, I highly support the reelection of Jayme Stevenson as first selectman.
