Letter: Put Darien first by voting Richards for first selectman
To the Editor:
It is a pleasure to write a letter in support of Rob Richards for first selectman. I met Rob when he was campaigning for the Board of Selectmen. I was struck by his calm demeanor, welcoming smile, and willingness to listen to my concerns. Rob did not strike me as a politician—he makes decisions based on what’s best for Darien as a whole. I was especially impressed by his advocacy for Darien getting paramedics. Rob didn’t let the politics of the issue get in the way of what was best for Darien.
As a former commuter, I am also happy to see that Rob intends to make improvements to the transportation infrastructure in town. All train stations would benefit from better lighting and more canopy coverage. His plan to reduce the wait time to obtain a station parking permit will be a relief to all commuters that know the feeling of being stuck on the parking wait list. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Rob for first selectman. A vote for Rob is a vote for Darien.
