Letter: Departing Darien Times reporter covered town news well and with fairness
Reporter Dan Arestia's last day with The Darien Times is Friday, April 13. We wish him the best in his new endeavors.
To the Editor:
The Darien Times is losing another terrific reporter after two years covering news and sports in Darien. Dan Arestia covered news and the ever-interesting education scene in town with ease and an ever-closer eye on how students would be affected. It's not an easy job. It never has been since the Hersam family founded the Times, and the HAN Network's owned weekly newspapers in all corners of Fairfield County have established a track record of excellence in reporting.
Dan did not disappoint his editor or us. He made it look easy especially when covering high school sports news, the Board of Education, town government and state government...all in a single week!
He did all of that with an inquiring mind and a sense of fairness always embedded in his approach. He did it well and he earned the respect of a broad cross-section of Darien's newsmakers and readers.
