To the Editor:

Would you like to learn more about running for local elected or appointed office in Darien? Please join us at the Run for Darien’s “Find Your Fit” virtual event on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. We look forward to welcoming our Democratic and Unaffliliated neighbors at this second discussion about how you can Run for Darien.

I will be one of your panelists and share how I have found my way to serve in Darien. I’ll be joined by others who have found their way to running for Darien as we all juggle careers, family and other life responsibilities.

Many hurdles exist to take the leap to run and with this virtual session we aim to help you find the role that fits you best by exploring the what and the how:

What should I run for? Learn more about the roles available to determine where your passions and skills align with our town’s needs.

How will running and serving fit into my life? Take a peek under the hood at the job descriptions of these leadership roles and learn both the hard facts of time commitment (official meeting time and material review and other outside time commitments if relevant) as well as the soft facts about the art of how to fit running and serving into your life.

Finding your fit will unlock the potential for you to serve in a role that is ideal for you. Your leadership will help unlock the potential of our town.

Register online at us02web.zoom.us or find event information on Facebook at Action Network of Darien Democrats (ANDD) or Darien Democratic Town Committee (DTC).
