Letter: Beauty contests should continue to focus on beauty
To the Editor:
Miss America, Miss Universe: They are beauty contests. They have always been geared towards the shallow. Contestants' answers to questions about making the world great were always drenched in confusion and no one paid attention to that part of the competition.
These ladies are not there because they were the first to split the atom. There are plenty of other competitions for the less physically fortunate which other, smarter girls, can compete in, despite their looks, which in most cases are consistent with what one would find in a live bait shop.
