Wendi Fisher Karl was a graduate of Darien High School and a caring friend to virtually everybody who had the chance to know her, her family said. Mrs. Karl touched many lives in Darien as a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Darien, long-time member of the Noroton Heights Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary, and member of the Darien Boat Club. She worked for many years as a legal assistant for the law firm of Millar & Ambrett.

The daughter of Dorothy and George Fisher, Mrs. Karl was born on Feb. 18, 1953 in Stamford and spent most her life in Darien. For the past two years, Mrs. Karl has lived in Vero Beach, Florida.

After a long and valiant battle with cancer, Mrs. Karl passed away on Sept. 17 in Vero Beach. She is survived by her husband Wayne Karl and his sons James, Allan and Jonathan, his grandchildren Robert, Emily, Anna and Aiden and her brothers Ronald and Gary Fisher.

Funeral services will be held at the Noroton Presbyterian Chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 10 am. Calling hours will be from 5  to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Edward Lawrence Funeral home in Darien. The burial will take place immediately after the funeral services at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
