Obituary: Thomas L. Foley, long-time Darien resident, CPA
Thomas L. Foley, Jr., a 37-year resident of Darien, died on Monday, May 29, 2017 in Darien. Born on Feb. 21, 1942 in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Helen Hogan and Thomas Leo Foley, Sr. He grew up in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. He was 75.
Mr. Foley graduated from Newtown High School in Elmhurst, New York; St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York and received his master’s degree in business administration from Fordham University in New York. He was a Certified Public Account in New York and Connecticut and worked for the Sara Lee Company, Gulf & Western Industries and Illy Coffee. He was a member of St. Thomas More Church, the Darien Boat Club, the Middlesex Club and the Cherry Lawn Community Gardens. He enjoyed kayaking and was a volunteer with the Registrar of Voters. He also served with the U.S. Army Reserves.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Foley and his wife Camyle of Miami Beach, Florida and John Foley of New York, New York. He is also survived by a brother Jim Foley of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his wife, Judith M. Foley in 2014.
Memorial calling hours were held on Thursday, June 1, at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien.
