Rose S. Papp, known as Dolly, a life-long resident of Darien, died  on Monday, Sept. 30 at Stamford Hospital. Born on Aug. 15, 1921 in Darien, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Conti) Bruno.

Mrs. Papp was a parishioner of St. Thomas More R.C. Church in Darien. She was a generous, loving, sweet and beautiful woman, her family said.

She is survived by her four children, Joseph J. Papp, Jr.; Richard Papp and his wife Bonnie; Robert Papp; and Marianne Reynolds and her husband Jerry. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Mary Rivera, Joseph J. Papp III, Kimberly Savvaides, Tara Miller, Andrea Connolly and Leigh Reynolds; and 10 great grandchildren, TJ, Jake, Cameron, Kevin, Carly, Claire, Graham, Adam, Leah and Landon. Also surviving are two sisters, Tessy Sniffen and Mary Fracola.

She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Joseph J. Papp Sr. who died in March of 1985. She was also predeceased by six siblings, Augustus Bruno, Benjamin Bruno, Joseph Bruno, Lizzy Journalist, Josephine Lombardo and Chiva Penna.

A Mass of Christian Burial was be held at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien on Saturday, Oct. 5. Burial followed at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
