Richard Anthony Connor, age 48, died on Thursday, Jan. 30, in West Hartford, after an almost three-year battle with melanoma. He died peacefully, surrounded his wife and children by his side.

He was born in Lakewood, Ohio, the son of A. Joan Connor and the late Frank J. Connor. Mr. Connor is survived by his wife Holly Joy Connor, from Manchester, his sons Aiden Nicholas Connor and Ethan Anthony Connor, his mother Joan, his sister Mary Beth Newkumet (Christopher), his brother Frank T. Connor (Patricia), his sister Kathleen Del Col (John) of Darien, 15 nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law Carol Andrews Joy Bucello and his father-in-law Frederick Bowden Joy. Mr. Connor was raised in Stamford,  graduated from Harvey School in Katonah, N.Y., and Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va. He pursued a career in marketing and most recently ran a marketing agency in Portland, Ore.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his booming laugh, his infectious smile, and his eternally positive attitude, his family said. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening, Feb. 6, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford.

A funeral will be held on Friday, Feb 7, at 11 a.m., at St. James’s Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Ave., West Hartford with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers an educational fund has been established for his sons.
