Philip Sheridan Boots, son of the late Jay Sheridan Boots and the late Jean Koglin Johnson, died on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, after a long illness.

Born Sept. 18,1957, in Stamford, Mr. Boots grew up in Darien, and Staten Island, New York.  Mr. Boots was the only grandson of the late Lt. Colonel Norman Jay Boots, West Point, Class of 1915.

Mr. Boots served in the U.S. Army from 1975 -1978, attaining the rank of Specialist. He was a graduate of Penn State University, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in human resources.

Mr. Boots is survived by and will be greatly missed by his only son, Jordan P. Boots, as well as his siblings, Louise B. Boots, Porter W. Boots, Lorena K. Boots, Cheryl A. Murdoch, Alexandra B. Brown, Constance B. Wyant, and Tom Johnson, along with several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Boots had a great love of building, riding, and showing his custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle and playing his guitars.

A memorial service and burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery. In honor of Mr. Boots's memory, please consider a contribution to the American Diabetes Association.
