Pedro A. Castillo died peacefully on October 9 surrounded by family after a brief illness.

He is survived by his children, Pedro Castillo of New York, Miguel Castillo of Hilton Head, Ana Ericksen of Nantucket, their spouses, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Julia Falla Castillo, in 2004.

He attended the University of Havana and the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He emigrated from Cuba with his family in 1960 and moved to Darien, Connecticut. He enjoyed a successful career in finance as head of the Venture Capital Group at General Electric and as founder and chairman of Fairfield Venture Capital in Connecticut and California. In 1993 he retired to Key Biscayne.
