On December 25, 2018 at the age of 75 Paul Frances Streitz, a former Darien resident, passed away after a brief illness at Yale -New Haven hospital.

Paul was born in Utica, NY the son of the late Julia O’Connor Streitz and the late Paul Phillip Streitz. He was a graduate of Mohawk High School and a 1966 graduate of Hamilton College. Paul served with the 82nd Airborne as a platoon leader near Hue, Vietnam and then as an advisor with the Vietnamese in the Mekong Delta, he was awarded a Bronze Star with Valor.

After his military service, he earned a Master’s degree from University of Chicago Business School, later working at various advertising agencies in NYC. He also created two musicals, OH JOHNNY and Madison Avenue, both of which ran as off Broadway productions. He retired from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority where he did market research.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Natasha Streitz, of Stamford, CT; his ex-wife Hilda Streitz of Darien, CT. He is also survived by siblings, Martha Streitz Harausz (Stephen), of Albany, Kurt Streitz, of Belmont, NC ad Peter Streitz (Donna Tremblay) of Hudson, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside military memorial service will be held at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown on May 18th at 11 a.m.
