Leslie Jeanne Taylor Browne lost her hard fought battle to pancreatic cancer on Dec.  2, 2015. She was born Oct. 17, 1956 in Charlotte, North Carolina, daughter to George W. Taylor, Jr. and Anne Henderson O’Brien. She is survived by her son, Taylor Browne, sister Anna McCraw, and nieces Alexis McCraw Armstrong and Anne Courtney Bigelow.

A native Charlottean, Ms. Browne and her family moved to Darien, Connecticut where she graduated from Darien High School in 1974 where she met her lifelong best friend Sue Slabicki.

Ms. Browne was a true southern cook and entertainer — all were welcome in her home and were treated to her gracious southern hospitality, her family said.

Her greatest joys were her son, her family and friends. She loved her time teaching elementary school and being a youth leader at Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was also a CNA where her passion for taking care of others truly shined. She enjoyed cross stitching, reading, and trips to the mountains.

Thank you to the incredible friends and extended family that supported her during her hard fought battle, her family said.

A Memorial Service was held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Monday, Dec. 7.

Memorial donations may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her honor/memory.

Heritage Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
