Lance Bailey died at home in Darien on Nov. 21. Born in 1940 in New York City, Mr. Bailey was a longtime resident of Darien. He was the son of the late Charles L. Bailey and the late Helene Pate Bailey of New York.

He was a financial advisor with Paine-Webber for 25 years and with Janney Montgomery Scott in Darien for the past 18 years.

Mr. Bailey was an avid tennis player and golfer, and a member of The Tokeneke Club for more than 40 years.

After attending the St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, Mr. Bailey was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army prior to graduating from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. in 1966.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith Robbins Bailey, his son Scott Bailey and his wife, Kim McClune Bailey of Easton; his daughter Kim Bailey Hain and her husband, Bob Hain of Mountainside, N.J., and his five grandchildren, Amanda and Tori Bailey and Trevor, Garrett and Dylan Hain.

A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Darien, on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m.

Burial will be private. Memorial donations can be made to the Susquehanna University Alumni Association Scholarship Fund or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
