Obituary: Kanga R. Price
Kanga R. Price, 67, of Norwalk, died at home on May 2 after battling a long illness.
She was born in Stamford Hospital on May 26, 1946 to the late Prescott and Jeanne Fuller of Darien. She grew up in Darien and graduated from Darien High School. She attended Manhattanville College and Emerson University. Ms. Price had a passion for music and dance and taught herself how to play guitar in her teenage years. She had a beautiful voice and frequently played in the Boston Coffee houses. Between 1958 and 1966 she was a member of the Sacred Dance Group established by her mother.
Ms. Price rose above numerous struggles in her life, her family said. She went back to school and became a drug and alcohol counselor. She worked in the field for many years and loved being able to work one on one with people. She had an extraordinary gift and was loved by many, her family said. She was a deeply spiritual person and found the good in everyone she met, her family said. She enjoyed volunteering with animals after her retirement.
Ms. Price met her life partner, Katherine, in 1988 and they were married in 2006. They made their home in Norwalk where Ms. Price enjoyed gardening, playing guitar, bird watching, reading, writing poetry, swimming and their cats and dog.
She is survived by her partner of 26 years, Katherine Reid; her brother David Fuller and his wife Joyce, of Simsbury; her son, Jason Price and his wife Kirstin, of California; her nephew Mark Fuller and his wife Star, of Texas; and two beautiful grandchildren, Harper and Milo.
