John Phillip Derr Kauffman, a 55-year Darien resident and CEO of the Newspaper Advertising Bureau, died Thursday, June 28, at his home. He was 92.

Born Dec. 16, 1919 in Williamsport, Pa/, he was the son of the late Charles and Isabel Kauffman.

Jack received his bachelor’s degree from Duke University.   He ended his career as chairman and CEO of the Newspaper Advertising Bureau in New York City.  He was a long time member of Wee Burn County Club and Tokeneke Beach Club.

He is survived his daughter, Missy Galloway of Ponte Vedre Beach, Fla.; son, Scott Kauffman of Topping, Va.; grandchild, Virginia Cooper; and two great grandchildren, Gabe Cooper and Anna Cooper.

A private family service and burial was held at St. Luke’s Parish in Darien.
