Jerry Phillips Baird, of Greenwich, died on Dec. 7. He was 74.

He was born in 1938 in New Albany, Indiana. He was raised in Clarksville, Ind. before moving to Greenwich at the age of 12. Mr. Baird attended Boston University before enlisting in the 7th infantry Division of the Army.

He married his high school sweetheart, Janice Reese, on Sept. 10, 1960. Mr. Baird served in Korea from 1960-1962. He worked in the textile division of Johnson Industries in New York City for 20 years. During that time he was very active in the New York JC's. After that, Mr. Baird became the President and CEO of Rotunda N.A. and Baird Associates in Greenwich.

Mr. Baird led a full and active life with many hobbies, his family said. His favorites were auto racing, fly Fishing and Golf. He was an member of The Belle Haven Club, involved in a variety of committees, as well as serving on the Board of Directors from 1984-88. In addition he founded the Belle Haven Golf and Shotgun Committee. Mr. Baird was also a memeber of The Campfire Hunting and Fishing Club in Chappaqua, N.Y.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Janice, of Greenwich, children Lisa Baird Lomanto, Jerry Phillips Baird Jr., his grandchildren Andrew, Megan, Alison and Ryan, all of Darien, as well as his brother Ronald C. Baird of Woodstock and his sister Joan-Katherine G. McCord of Denver, Co.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church, Greenwich on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 1 a.m
