Obituary: Jane Spencer Richardson
Jane Richardson, 64, of Fayetteville died on January 24, 2014. Jane grew up in Fayetteville with her mom and dad, Nancy and Bud Richardson and her sister, Judy, giving and receiving love, guidance and support. She graduated from FM High School, and attended Vermont College for Women, Roberts Wesleyan, and Fairfield University where she earned her degrees.
Jane knew she was destined to be a teacher from the time she was in first grade. She taught in the Darien, Connecticut School System for almost 30 years at Hollow Tree, Royle and Ox Ridge Schools, serving as Kindergarten Grade Level Leader many of those years. She was a gifted and admired teacher who delighted in guiding her students to realize their maximum potential. It gave her great joy to keep in touch with many of her students and their families over the years.
Jane retired to Fayetteville where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She lived and shared her life with a warm, positive attitude and met all the many challenges life threw her way with grace and dignity and the determination to meet each and every one of them with a smile on her face. Jane was a generous and loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, teacher and friend and was truly an inspiration to us all.
She is survived by her sister, Judy Richardson of Fayetteville, her aunt and uncle, Betty and John Schlieder of Lowville, nine wonderful cousins and their families and her dear friends.
There will be no calling hours. Her family will receive friends after the Memorial Service, which will take place at the United Church of Fayetteville, 310 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1 pm.
