Elizabeth Burnett Brown, formerly of Stamford and Darien, a teacher and caregiver, died on Thursday, March 8, at Sharon Hospital after a brief illness. She was 92.

She was the daughter of the late Harold Seymour and Katharine Crane Brown.

Miss Brown was a graduate of Vassar College, Class of 1941, where she studied art and art history. She was an artist, pianist, teacher and caregiver who devoted her life to others with laughter, smiles and wit, her family said. "She delighted in gardening, garden planning and bird watching and was an avid reader and Scrabble player who joyfully anticipated the next book or Scrabble game."

Miss Brown is survived by her niece, Katharine O. Spearman of Darien; her nephew, Peter K. Oliver of West Cornwall; five great nieces, Katharine Riordan, Margaret Spearman, Carly Lavigne, Sarah Lavigne and Stephanie Magyar; and her great-great niece and nephew Gillian Riordan and Luke Riordan. "Her love and gratitude to her nephew-in-law, John Spearman, and her niece-in-law, Sandy Oliver, for their caring and devotion was unendingly expressed," her family said.

Miss Brown was predeceased by her sister Katharine Brown Oliver and her brother Harold Strong Brown.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 21, at 11, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1101 Bedford St., Stamford. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford.
