Dorothy and her family moved to Darien in 1959 and she taught math at Darien High School for 25 years. She was a member of Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) for many years, and a long time active member of the First Congregational Church of Darien, very involved in the Women’s Association, the Reading Group, and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Her greatest interests were her children, her church family and P.E.O. sisters, Sudoku, and of course, the Boston Red Sox. She loved going to the Sugar Bowl and showing off the latest decorations to visiting family members.
