Obituary: David Edward Keen
David Edward “Dibby” Keen, age 84, of Spring Hill, Fl passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 under the care of HPH Hospice Care Center. He was the husband of Mary Keen for 27 years.
Born in Darien, CT, he was a son of the late Frank and Alice Keen. He owned and operated Keen’s Flower Shop of Glenbrook, CT for 30 years then worked for Bruce’s Flowers in Norwalk, CT for 20 years before retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved to go deep sea fishing and trout fishing. He was a Mason, a member of the Elks and Moose lodges.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary, daughter Susan Keen-Walthall and her husband Jerry of Streetman, TX and son David E. Keen, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM and step-son, Keith Erickson of Spring Hill, FL. He is the grandfather of Coleman Walthall, Brooke Campbell, and Steven Erickson and has eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Marjorie Bruno of New Canaan Ct., niece Nancy Clark, and nephews James Bruno, Frank Keen, Robert Keen, and David Keen. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank Keen of Wilton Ct..
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Marks Episcopal Church, Oenoke Ridge Rd, New Canaan, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made be to the Masonic Lodge in Darien, CT.
