Albert Peter Tuccinardi passed away peacefully on Friday May 10, 2013 in Newcastle, Ca.

He was born in Branford, Ct. On December 7, 1923, the fifth of seven beloved sons of Anthony and Nancy Conti Tuccinardi. His family moved to Darien where he attended Baker, Middlesex and Darien Senior School.

Albert was a veteran of World War II. Stationed in England he took part in the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, landing on Omaha Beach with the American forces.

He was a medic with Patton's Third Army and fought through the Battle of the Bulge and through Germany.

At war's end he returned home to Darien becoming a house painter, later opening the Paint Pot with his brother Fred. He was a member of The Piedmont Club and The VFW of Noroton Heights. His many joys encircled his family and friends, the waters of Long Island Sound and the abundance the Sound provided. He loved to cook, was a raconteur and his love of dancing was legendary. Albert had a great flare for creating beautiful pieces of art. He will be sorely missed.

Albert is survived by his son Glenn C. Tuccinardi and his wife Janice DeFelice of Newcastle, Ca.,with whom Albert resided, his daughters Corinne Ludwig and her husband Michael of Ridgefield, Ct., and Dana Flynn of Daytona Beach, Fla., his grandchildren Michael Ludwig,Jr., Ashley Ludwig and her husband Nate Mockry, Hunter Ludwig and Grace Flynn, two sisters, Phyllis Pagano of West Norwalk, Ct. And Yolanda Maffucci of Darien, Ct. and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his six brothers,Pat, Jerry , Hotch, Sunny, Dominick and Fred. Patriots all.
