Alan C. Stewart, 71, of Norwalk, died on March 24 in Norwalk Hospital. Mr. Stewart was born on Sept, 28, 1942 in Cambridge, Mass. and was a son the late Francis J. and Ruth Lindblah Stewart. Mr. Stewart attended the Waltham Schools and later attended college at North Park in Chicago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War, and later re-located to Norwalk were he first worked for Children’s Services and later had been a social worker for the Darien Board of Education. He was voted social worker of the year in 2004.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother Kendall F. Stewart; three aunts, Barbara K. Lindblah Fontaine, Dorothy Stewart Miller and Eleanor Stewart Nason.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews and his many close longtime friends in Connecticut.

There will be a service on Saturday, April 5 from 11 to 2 in Norwalk’s Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. Prayer service and eulogies begin at 1.
