Masuk High School’s new principal is now in place.
The Masuk High School Principal Search Committee — comprised of 17 members, including teachers, parents, Board of Education members, administrators and a student representative — announced today that Dr. Jacob Greenwood replaces longtime Masuk High Principal Joseph Kobza, who earlier this year was tabbed as Monroe’s new assistant school superintendent, a role he will begin on July 1.
Greenwood has been assistant principal at Darien High School since 2012. Prior to his time in Darien, he served as a biology teacher, Science Department chairman, and Dean of Students at Ridgefield High School from 1999 through 2012.
Greenwood holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of New Hampshire, a masters degree from the University of Southern Maine, and a doctoral degree from Western Connecticut State University. He is an avid runner, cyclist, and swimmer having completed three Ironman Triathlons.
The initial pool of 35 applicants was narrowed down to three finalists, who were interviewed by the search committee, which reportedly was “extremely impressed with Dr. Greenwood’s qualifications and experience.”
