A 26-year-old Yonkers, New York man was arrested for driving while under the influence on Feb. 26, Darien Police said. Police stopped Patrick McDade on the Post Road at about 2 a.m. for traveling without his headlights illuminated.

He was traveling back to New York from a friend’s home and told police he had several drinks earlier in the evening. McDade was unable to complete field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. A background check showed that his license had also been suspended in New York.

The accused denied a blood alcohol test at police headquarters and was released on $250 bond. He is due in court March 8.
