Stolen laptop recovered during trespassing arrest in Darien
A homeless man arrested for trespassing at a Post Road realty office on July 30 was found to be in possession of a stolen laptop taken from another Darien business. Police identified the man, Carl Agbemabiese, 24, while patrolling Post Road and lost sight of him in near 671 Post Road, Halstead Properties.
Agbemabiese was known to police from prior encounters and had been instructed not to enter private property. Officers found him in the building’s first floor bathroom and placed him under arrest for trespassing.
While searching his person police found an Apple MacBook computer and determined that it had been reported stolen from Alcone Marketing, another Post Road business, in early July. Agbemabiese allegedly admitted to taking the computer and clearing its hard drive for personal use.
He was charged with burglary, larceny, computer crime and criminal trespassing and arraigned in court on July 31.
