A diner at Bertucci’s Restaurant in Darien reported a smash and grab car burglary during the evening of April 29. According to police, the victim had parked at the restaurant at about 6 p.m. and returned to her car just before 9 p.m. to find that her front passenger window had been smashed and a tote bag was taken from the inside.

The tote bag contained $300 in Canadian currency, a passport, iPad mini, a checkbook, several bank cards and a set of house keys. No other vehicles in the area showed signs of entry and no security footage was immediately available. Police are still continuing their investigation.
