Police: Vendor at Darien High School investigated for inappropriate contact with juvenile
Darien Police reported responding to a report of inappropriate contact between an adult male and a juvenile girl at Darien High School on Wednesday, July 11.
Police said they responded to the incident at 2:30 p.m. at Darien High School's campus Wednesday.
"At this time, the investigation is in its initial stages so we are unable to release information in regards to the specifics of what occurred," the police release said.
Police said the suspect is not a Board of Education or Town of Darien employee. Detective James Palmieri told The Darien Times the suspect was working as vendor at the time but will no longer be working at the school.
"The suspect will no longer be at any Darien Public Schools, so there is no ongoing risk to any children in our educational facilities," the release said.
"Given the sensitive nature of these types of investigations and the involvement of a juvenile, no further information will be released at this time," police said.
