One thousand dollars in cash reported missing following appointment at Darien dealership
A Stamford resident reported $1,000 in cash missing after taking her car to a service appointment at BMW of Darien on Feb. 7. The woman dropped her car off at about 9 a.m. and returned to pick it up later in the morning. She said she had left $1,000 in a bank envelope in a storage compartment near the steering wheel but the cash was missing after the vehicle’s interior was cleaned.
The complainant immediately reported the missing cash to the dealership service clerk, who in turn questioned several employees. The dealership could not produce the cash, and management advised the woman to file a police report. An investigation of the missing money is still ongoing.
