Darien's emergency responders were busy Monday after torrential rains pounded the town and surrounding area. Several areas were flooded including the underpass at the railroad bridge at Tokeneke and the Post Road. All three fire departments responded to a flood on Holly Lane. The homeowner's basement was flooded and the house was surrounded with water. The "sealegs" rescue boat was employed to assist the resident. Noroton Heights Chief Shawn Murphy said all three departments were busy responding to various flooding and other storm issues Monday.
