Motor vehicle stolen overnight, multiple unlocked car burglaries reported
Police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle and nearly half a dozen car burglaries, all of which targeted unlocked cars on Jan. 21.
A resident of Laforge Road reported their 2015 Lexus RX stolen to police. Though she had both set of keys, the victim said one may have been stored close enough to the car to unlock and activate the vehicle while still inside. Another Laforge Road resident reported that their vehicle had been entered as well, but nothing was missing from inside.
During the same night, a Deepwood Road resident had three vehicles entered and searched overnight but again nothing was reported stolen. A Hickory Lane resident also told police their glove box had been emptied out but nothing appeared to be missing either. Finally, two residents reported car burglaries on Thomasina Lane, without any losses. At one of those homes, two locked cars in the driveway were left undisturbed.
Police continue to encourage residents to lock their cars regardless of where they park.
