A man stole nearly $140 worth of baby food from the Noroton Heights Stop & Shop on Friday, June 24.

A store employee witnessed a man leaving through an emergency door at the back of the store, sounding the alarm at around 7:30 p.m. The man was carrying a basket containing 10 cans of Gerber Good Start baby formula.

The man sprinted towards a gray 1995 Buick Century parked along the west side of the building. The employee recorded the license plate as the man entered the car. Darien Police discovered that the car was reported stolen from Stratford on Wednesday, June 22. The car disappeared from a residence sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The man is described as being approximately 40 years old, white, and wearing a blue baseball hat.
