A 44-year-old Darien man was charged with DUI after failing to stop at a stop sign on Tokeneke Road. An officer patrolling the area near I-95 Exit 12 saw a car go through the stop sign at the intersection of Tokeneke Road and swerve over the yellow divider several times. The vehicle was then stopped near Driftwood Lane.

Police identified the driver as Glen Thomas of Allen O’Neill Drive. He told police he was driving home from Norwalk and had one beer to drink earlier in the evening. Detecting the odor of alcohol on Thomas’s breath, officers asked him to submit to a field sobriety test. He was unable to complete the test to standard and was placed under arrest.

Thomas refused a breathalyzer test at police headquarters and was released on $50 bond with a court date of July 14.
