Police are investigating a bank robbery reported yesterday at Chase Bank, 165 Noroton Avenue. Witnesses told officers that a black man entered the bank at about 1 p.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The note implied that the male had a firearm, but no weapon was ever displayed. The suspect was given cash and immediately exited the bank without incident.

The man was last seen getting into a vehicle parked in a lot adjacent to the bank on Heights Road. The vehicle was described as a white sedan, possibly bearing New Jersey license plates. The Darien Police Detective Bureau responded and processed the scene for evidence. Detectives are actively working with the FBI in an attempt to identify the suspect, pictures of whom were captured on bank surveillance cameras.

The Darien Police are asking anyone who has any information or recognizes the pictured suspect to call the Darien Police Detective Bureau at 203-662-5330.

As this is an active investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
